(Brand spanking new!)

“Why do you worry about such things? He should mean absolutely nothing to you. You hardly even know him!” The worker just shouted at the crying woman. The worker was a little younger and shorter than the one she was screaming at, but was obviously a lot tougher. Her gold eyes glared down at the other, her dirty blond hair falling in her face as it tried to escape from the messy pony tail she kept it in.
The Maiden just wept and looked up at the Worker. “You wouldn’t understand! This boy needs my help; you’ve never had someone to care for so this is a subject you shouldn’t think you can touch upon.” She stood up and brushed the wavy red hair out of her face to glare at the Worker. The tears just seemed to magnify her green eyes as they ran out. She then looked over toward the Artist, who sat near a large window, writing as she stared out at the stars. “You understand, don’t you?”
For a while the Artist just peered at the paper she was writing on, icy blue eyes seemed to be caught in a trance as the pen glided through the parchment. After what seemed to be hours, she looked up and pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, looking over at the two. She then snorted and ran her fingers through her brown hair. “If I told you I did, would you drag me into this dumb fight you two are having?”
They both just stared at her for a moment before the Worker snarled and crossed her arms. “I honestly think this is ridiculous. All she does if fawn over this boy and tend to his every whim! He never returns the affection and I don’t think she should be continuing to see him and expect something from him!”
“ And that’s why you don’t understand.” She moved away and straightened out her black dress. “All you care about is money. You’re too greedy for any of this to even cross your mind.”
“I understand perfectly, Princess.” The tone from the Worker was snide. “You’re in love with a man that could never love you back.”
“That’s not true! We’re meant for each other! How could someone like you possibly expect to see it? Everything is black and white to you. Only those that see color can understand what’s truly going on?” She looked to the Artist hopefully. “Right?”
The Artist stuffed her hands in her pockets and sighed, chewing on the toothpick in her mouth thoughtfully. “When I look at him, I don’t see the Knight you keep hoping for.” She turned back and looked out her window. “All I see is hero worship and, at this moment, you’re having trouble seeing it because you’re too caught up in love to understand what’s truly going on.” The Artist looked back and smiled a little. “Even though she’s a cynical, controlling bitch, she knows emotions.”
Worker blinked and glared at the Artist. “‘Cynical bitch’?!”
She was ignored as the Maiden’s eyes started to tear once more. “But...”
The Artist stepped closer and hugged the frail looking woman. “He’ll never be your Knight. Keep him close to your heart, but don’t get carried away in an emotion that will bring you nothing but pain.”
The Maiden froze at the words before clinging to the Artist and sniffling a little. “Do....you care about him too?”
“Only because you do.”
The Worker stepped closer to then with a frown. “All this mushy stuff is making me sick! Just stop caring so much about him.”
The two looked over at her blankly.
She blinked. “What?”
The Artist looked at the Worker flatly. “It’s much harder than it seems. She can’t just let go; she doesn’t know how.”
“Well, then, maybe she should learn.”
The Maiden pouted and nuzzled her head into the Artist’s shoulder. “You’re so insensitive.”
The Worker laughed. “You’re too sensitive!”
“That’s enough, stop bickering already.”
Both of them silenced and looked over at the Artist.
She smiled and nodded. “That’s better.”
